TIPS FROM THE EXPERT:

Here are some Airbrushing tips to get you started – airbrush makeup is a whole new way of thinking!

BEGINNING AIRBRUSHING TIPS:

  1. Remember, less is more.  You don’t need as much makeup with airbrushing as you do with conventional makeup.  Airbrush a little and then pause and really look at your skin – you will notice a difference even though you didn’t see makeup coming out.
  2. The closer to the skin, the smaller the spray area and the more full coverage; the further away from the skin, the wider the spray and the more sheer coverage
  3. Small, circular motion is always the best

FOUNDATION:

  1. Choose a shade that matches your skin, remembering to keep your neck in mind when matching
  2. Start the foundation application by doing a little blemish control.  Move close to the blemish and lightly pull back on the trigger of the AIR brush.  It is like a magic-eraser….it just disappears.
  3. Start approx. 4-6inches off of the face depending upon your level of desired coverage
  4. Start in the mask of the face (the center) and work your way out.  Most people need more coverage in the mask of the face than they do in the outer parts of the face.

BLUSH:

  1. To choose your shade, lightly pinch your cheek.  If your cheeks turns pink, choose a pink shade.  If it turns more peach, choose a peach shade.  Rose – choose a rose……
  2. Start on the apples of the cheek and work your way back in a small, circular motion.  The blush should just disappear into the hairline.
  3. Don’t be afraid of blush, especially with airbrushing, because it will always look blended!

HIGHLIGHTER:

  1. This is a Pro trick that has been happening for years – add a little highlighter around the eye.  Place it in a backwards “C” around the eyebrow, eye and the upper cheekbone.  It makes the eye pop and look younger.
  2. If you want it to be noticed more, choose a shade that is slightly lighter than your own complexion.
  3. If you want it to be more subtle, choose a shade that is close to your own skin.
  4. If you want to look bronze choose a shade that is a little bit warmer.

Don’t be afraid to use highlighter on your decollatege, collar bones….anywhere you want a little shimmer
